Conference Update

On behalf of the 14 sponsoring MdQI Agencies, it has been decided to postpone the 2022 Maryland Quality Initiative Conference due to the COVID-19 omicron variant outbreak and increased cases. As we considered the decision, we prioritized the health and safety of all our attendees and feedback on participants’ comfort levels. The organizers’ main concern is to guarantee the health of everyone involved and ensure a high level of attendance from stakeholders around the Maryland and our neighboring states and DC. Fostering an atmosphere of open communication and cooperation with our partners is critical to defining and achieving our goals.

Our team believes that MdQI is about having the opportunity to make personal connections —to network with professionals from various sectors within the Maryland transportation industry; to experience innovative solutions, emerging technologies, and alternate forms of transportation; to earn professional development hours required for Professional Engineers in Maryland, as well as other states; and to take away tips for building an improved transportation system – but to truly fulfill this mission, we find this event needs to primarily occur in person.

The conference is now scheduled for Wednesday, May 25 – Thursday, May 26 at the same venue.

The planning of the conference was well underway, with more than 500 registered participants, 90 exhibitors, and 24 confirmed sessions scheduled to take place over the course of two days. The conference organizers invite all partners to continue their engagement with this event and will work towards ensuring the same program with an even greater level of participation in May.

Personalized messages will be sent to exhibitors, sponsors, attendees, and presenters to help prepare them for their involvement at our May conference.

Registration and sponsorship opportunities will remain in place until we reach capacity. You can learn more and register at https://pheedloop.com/mdqi/site/home/.

Questions regarding the postponement can be sent to LLawler@mtbma.org.

Registration Update

As a reminder, all conference sessions will be pre-recorded and available to view and earn PDHs virtually if you do not feel comfortable attending in person. The MdQI University ticket option is available when submitting your event registration. This will also allow access to exhibitors, fellow attendees, and other important updates to remain connected with the conference in the digital platform. Access to MdQI University is complimentary with the purchase of any in-person conference ticket.

Our team will continue to monitor the situation with COVID-19 and stand ready to implement increased safety measures if needed.
