Another Memorable Celebration!

The Maryland transportation community came together on April 9 for the 2026 MDQI Awards Dinner, an evening dedicated to recognizing the projects, partnerships, and professionals shaping Maryland's transportation network.

The program featured remarks from Maryland Transportation Secretary Katie Thomson and celebrated achievements across a wide range of project categories, highlighting innovation, sustainability, safety, and collaboration throughout the industry.

Two projects earned the evening's highest honors:

• Project of the Year (Under $5M): MD 5 Bridge Over Hilton Run (SHA District 5)

• Project of the Year (Over $5M): I-95 Northbound Express Toll Lanes Extension (MDTA)

The evening also recognized three outstanding industry leaders:

• Joseph Sagal Award: Samantha Biddle

• Veeramachaneni Innovator Award: Brian Wolfe

• Pierce J. Flanigan, III Award: Mike Higgins

With more than 260 attendees representing agencies, contractors, consultants, and industry partners, the MDQI Awards Dinner continues to serve as a premier celebration of excellence in Maryland transportation.
