Scope: CSX Transportation (CSXT) launched the Howard Street Tunnel (HST) Clearance Project to enable double-stack intermodal service. A sink hole developed on the project and having the right contact information on hand allowed communication to flow successfully and helped work toward a safe and timely resolution.

Scope: The MD 5 (Point Lookout Road) Bridge over Hilton Rd was originally constructed in 1936 and was at the end of its service life and needed replaced. MDOT SHA launched a $4+ million dollar replacement project in September 2024. The roadway never fully closed to traffic during replacement as it served as a vital link for local and regional traffic. The project introduced two first-in-Maryland innovations.

A critical chokepoint in this system was the 130 year old Howard Street Tunnel (HST), the central link between CSXT’s Northeast–to–Florida corridor and the Port of Baltimore’s Seagirt Marine Terminal.

Scope: MDTA sought to address congestion and safety in northeast Maryland by extending the
I-95 Northbound Express Toll Lanes (ETL) in Baltimore and Harford counties. Through KH-3009, the JMT team worked with MDTA to design two ETLs in the median and shift four existing lanes to the outside for seven miles, from MD 43 to south of MD 152—where average daily traffic exceeds 150,000 vehicles.

a $31M, three-year, Maryland SHA project to improve safety and extend the lifespan of these structures. The project consisted of three different types of structures; seven steel girder bridges, two voided concrete slab bridges and one multi-cell concrete box beam bridge.
